TWO GREAT CITIES, ONE GREAT SHIP
Buffalo, NY | Little Rock, AR
We, the Commissioning Committee, are proud to announce that the future USS Little Rock (LCS 9) will be commissioned in Buffalo, New York at Canalside. Our committee was formed to assist the United States Navy during the commissioning ceremony as well as to provide a unique experience for the citizens of Buffalo, New York and Little Rock, Arkansas, along with other interested parties.
It is interesting to note that, during the Navy’s 242-year history, the commissioning of the future USS Little Rock (LCS 9) will mark the very first time that a ship will be commissioned alongside its namesake ship. This is indeed an historic event!
The week-long celebration is scheduled to take place December 8 through December 17, 2017 at Canalside in Buffalo, New York, with the Commissioning Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, December 16th. As the commissioning chairman, I would encourage you to continue monitoring our website for event updates along with tickets and merchandise. You can also explore ways to support this exciting event with a monetary gift or with the option of serving as an event sponsor.
We look forward to seeing you throughout the Commissioning Week in Buffalo. In the meantime, thank you for your ongoing enthusiasm and support. This is a national and historical event and one that reflects well on the Buffalo, New York community. It is our honor to be hosting the event and my privilege to be acting as the event chairman.
